Kris Is Coming To NY IN Three Weeks!

Dear members,

I should have put this message long time before, but I am coming back to NY in three weeks. I will arrive in White Plains on the evening of Thanksgiving, November 26th. and will stay at the same hotel as usual for 13 nights, leaving there very, very (again) early in the morning of December 9th. I will send you the time schedule for face-to-face lessons while I am there, so I would like you to think of taking as many lessons as possible, please.

Really looking forward to seeing all of you!

Thank you and see you in three weeks!

Photos From Kris's Last Two Trips: in April and May, 2009

Kris could manage to fly back to White Plains in April and in May. She was so happy to see many members and be able to have face-to-face lessons with several members.

And Jeff organized a dinner party at his place for all of us in April. More than 10 people got together and Kris finally met Jeff's family: Elizabeth and Nick.

Jeff also organized another dinner meeting in Manhattan in May with two of his Japanese friends. Ken also joined us, which was great.

Warren and Patty organized a family BBQ in May. Kris was there and had another great time. Kris never ever fails to see Patty, who is not taking Japanese lessons, whenever she goes there.

Every time Kris flies to NY, she makes a wonderful memory of stay there, thanks to the members. She is really lucky to have all those members, you, there.
Here are photos she took. Quite a lot of photos, but Kris hopes you will enjoy them.

What Happens!

I have just returned to Japan, to find out that there is now a professional English teacher appointed to the elementary school where I was supposed to have English lessons. In Japan, school year starts in April and every board of education decides everything for transfer of teachers and other things by the end of March. They decided to send an proper English teacher to that elementary school at the end of March, which means I will not have to work for them. I'd say it was a kind of too stupid preparation for that elementary school to have asked to me to teach there. They were not sure if they would get a proper English teacher for next school year, but I still want to say they should have let me know as soon as they got to know there would be an English teacher there.

I would like to, and I should stop talking about it now.

Anyway what I thought when I found I would not have to teach at that elementary school was that I would be free. And I also happened to find a very nice air fare with two promotion programs with United Airline. I thought I should not miss it, so I decided to come back to NY in May. I will arrive there on very, very late night of May 17th and will stay there 9 nights, leaving there on May 25th. This time I will stay there only a week, but I hope I will be able to see you as often as possible. I am sure it is up to your budget, but I would like you to think of taking face-to-face lessons with me while I am there in May. I will make a schedule list and will send you.

I am also supposed to put some photos from my last trip there, but not ready yet. Sorry, but I will put them later.

Hope I will hear from you soon.

Love,
Kris

Kris Is Coming To NY At The Beginning Of April

The year of 2009 looks quite hectic to Kris, who is supposed to have to teach English at a local elementary school twice a month. For those classes Kris will also have to go there to plan classes with two assistants and homeroom teachers, which means it will be a little difficult for her to take a two-week or so trip to NY. As the school year starts in April in Japan, Kris tries taking a trip to NY before she starts teaching at that elementary school regularly. She has just managed to arrange her schedule of April to have two classes at the elementary school in later April. And that's how Kris can come to NY at the beginning of April!!!!!

Yes, I am coming to NY, arriving there very, very late at night of March 31st (maybe around midnight of April 1st) and leaving there on very, very early morning of April 13th. (the flight is 5:55 am) I will stay at the same hotel as usual and would like to have lessons there.

I will send an e-mail to members with the lesson schedule file and would like members to think taking lessons as often as possible with me while I am there, please.

Talk to you later.

Better Than Nothing Even Though It's Too late

Dear members,

I am very, very sorry for not having tried renewing my blog page until now. I should have renewed at the beginning of January this year, saying, "Happy New Year"「あけまして おめでとうございます。」 I admit I was too lazy. Sorry.

I still think it is better than nothing, so I attach some photos with members from my last trip to NY. I hope you will enjoy them.

Kris Is Coming Back To White Plains At The End Of November

Hello, everyone! How have you been?

I have not written anything in this blog page such a long time, but I finally have something to write here. Yes, I am coming back to NY at the end of November. It has been very difficult for me to decide when to come back there, but JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) , which a few of members will take makes me decide to come at the end of November. I am very glad to hear that they decide to take the test though they are supposed to study very hard to prepare for the test. I am sure they are learning a lot when they prepare for the test and that may be the most important thing as a motivation of learning a foreign language.

Anyway it is time for me to plan the lesson schedule during my stay there. I would like you to think about taking a face-to-face lesson with me while I am there, please. I will send you a mail with a schedule document file with which I hope you can schedule to have a lesson with me. I will arrive there on Thanksgiving, November 27th, and will stay there for 14 days, leaving there on December 11th. I will stay at the same hotel as before and would like to have lessons in my hotel room.

Hope I can see as many members as possible when I come back to NY this time. Looking forward to seeing you. See you soon.

Awaji Island Festival on August 2nd.

Kris participated in Awaji Island festival on August 2nd. There were two types of dancing: male style and female style. As you can see, Kris danced male style. It was fun and I just wanted to introduce this to the members as one of Japanese culture. Hope you will enjoy the photos.
